Infiniti G37 IPL Coupe - Sexy, sleek and slick: infiniti g37s ipl 9000
Adding 18 more ponies, plus a host of other performance and appearance goodies to the Infiniti G37 sports coupe, is also a good thing. For more than two decades, Infiniti has been to Nissan what Lexus is to Toyota and Acura is to Honda — its sporting automotive arm with more luxury. Now, four years after the second-generation Infiniti G coupe arrived in the line, an added dose of good has been injected into it to make the top-of-the-line G37 IPL Infiniti Performance Line.
That means a grown-up Z shape made more voluptuous, from the full-fleshed curves in the bumpers atop a long sedan-length Infiniti opted to go with the flow with its IPL design, and started with the mid-level G37 Journey trim. The classic 4-vane grill is still flanked by headlights that slash up the shapely front fenders.
But Infiniti added a dramatic lower front air dam that flows off the bumper, with a central air intake and flanking side inlets, inset fog lights and a deep sculpted front air dam. The lower side sills are sculpted to flow more organically from the rounded flanks. The wheels frame huge brake discs with gray Infiniti-badged calipers. In back, a simple trunk lip spoiler with slim third brake light, and two huge chrome exhaust tips sticking out of a more sculpted lower bumper fascia.
The IPL changes made a coupe whose shape I have liked for years look even better - a lower, more aggressive stance. But since the design has been around for a while, not many noticed it in our miles of driving except for a horn honk and victory sign from a BMW 7-Series driver.
Clutch controls improperly adjusted. Insufficient clutch spring tension.
It was very comfortable and supportive, with multi-level heat, two memory presets, power lumbar and manually-adjustable lower thigh cushion, an embroidered Infiniti insignia on the seatbacks. The three-spoke steering wheel gets a fat black leather rim with red stitching, and power tilts and telescopes with the gauge package in unison.
That keeps the mph speedometer and 9,rpm tach in view, along with gas and temperature gauges and central trip computer display, done in white with purple accents.
The long and easy to reach magnesium paddle shifters get grained leather-like trim for finger traction in shifting. Aluminum pedals and footrest add to the subtle brightwork in infiniti g37s ipl 9000 dark gray interior, the dash and door tops done in padded buff leather grain plastic, the only brighter spot the red stitched leather door pads.
All of the audio system, plus navigation, is voice controlled. Stereo controls frame the oval chrome-trimmed analog clock.

You can access the rear seats by the tap of a button that powers the front seats forward, and returns them to where you left them. Once there, just enough room for an adult if a front seat passenger gives a little, and my head was touching the rear window — call these occasional seats.
A trunk-mounted button drops the rear seat back to access wide and deep but shallow infiniti g37s ipl 9000. Thank a new engine management system that recalibrates the air-fuel mixture and ignition timing and takes the redline from 7, to 7, rpm for that, with a more linear torque curve.

This 8,mile-old G37 IPL did it in 5. I liked the crisp shifts from the 7-speed automatic. It also blips the throttle on downshifts. We still averaged 22 mpg on premium in mixed use driving.
The ride is athletic and firm, yet compliant and comfortable over most surfaces. Hit a bump and it absorbs it without fuss and no harsh rebound. Like the last G37 Coupe I tested, this car can be powered out of turns, the right foot helping the rear end hang a bit with help from defeatable Vehicle Dynamic Control.
When I'm stuck in traffic, especially during the summer, I like to roll down the infiniti g37s ipl 9000 and blast the music.

But the power it offers and the graceful, curvaceous styling, even if it has been around a few years, counts for some of my attraction.
